Crossbred Cattle

                We have several Crossbred cattle on the farm or some might say a Commercial Herd. We have some that are strongly Gelbvieh influenced and some that are strongly Tarentaise influenced. We love the cross of the Gelbvieh and Tarentaise we call them Gelaise. They develop more muscle earlier than the Tarentaise and they have better milk than the Gelbvieh. They almost always look like a true Tarentaise, red with black nose, eyes, and ears. They also are very gentle to handle, favoring the Tarentaise demeanor. We often go out into the field with dogs, small children, and loud machinery and they will come close to lick on you.
